Whistleblowing Policy

Wakitu out-of-School clubs, encourage an open environment in which everyone will be listened to, and all allegations will be taken seriously. To ensure children are always safe there will be at least two members of Wakitu staff at any time.

Children, families, carers or staff are urged to discuss any concerns with the Wakitu manager, Sian Borowiak, they will be logged, internally investigated and external advice and investigations will be completed. 

 

· Staff must not keep any concerns about colleagues, volunteers or trainees relating to the care of children to themselves. 

· All employees are encouraged to discuss concerns immediately with the club manager. 

· Parents are free to discuss concerns with the club manager in private if needed. 

· Staff are aware of who the designated child protection officer is and the hierarchy in place if they are not present. 

· If employees believe their concerns are not being addressed by management, they can contact social services directly on 02893 315112 

· Numbers for social services and early years can be found in the social services folder located in the store and on the displayed emergency contact list. All employees are free to access these at any time. 

· The designated child protection officer, Club Manager, sian Borowiak or Andrea Schmidt, Assistant Manager, details and telephone numbers are available to all parents and carers on registration.
