Partnership with Parents/Carers

Wakitu out-of-School Clubs recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents/carers to promote the best interests of children. We respect you know your child the best and are here to help provide the best quality childcare for your child for you to fulfil your daily commitments.  We will always be open to discuss anything you feel pertinent to your child’s care and aim to meet all requirements. Our door is always open for parents and carers to come and discuss anything, large or small, about your child with us. 

To achieve this, we will follow the following procedures: 

· Parents will be asked to give any specific information about their child before enrolment. This will give us a better understanding of their needs and help them settle in quickly. 

· We are happy to discuss the needs of any parent who has additional needs or whose first language is not English. 

· There is an open and transparent relationship with parents. We are always happy to discuss a child and their care, either in person or over the phone. 

· Inform parents of the procedures for registering comments or complaints. 

· Ensure all parents are aware of our policies and procedures. 

· Provide regular updated information by way of parent’s/carers booklet/newsletters/notices. 

· Parents are asked to inform us immediately about any changes regarding contact information and emergency contacts. 

· Any concerns or issues regarding managing children’s behaviour etc. are discussed with parents to help find a collective solution. 

· Parents are asked to respect our role as a childcare provider. It is asked that regular payments, defined collection and drop off times, holidays and sickness arrangements etc are respected so the best care can be provided for all our customers. 

· All information provided by parents is kept confidential unless there are concerns in which we have a duty of care to pass the information on to the relevant authority. 

· We welcome all feedback and views from parents and encourage them to reciprocate this.
